When the Lord was on this earth, He spoke many words to His disciples. Because this was the year in which the Lord had to be crucified after the Passover, He said, “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work” (John 9:4). Although it was a word the Lord spoke at that time, He spoke it even to the point that we must work now, because later, when the Antichrist appears, we will not be able to work. And after He said that as long as He is in the world He is the light of the world, He spat on the ground and made clay and anointed the eyes of the blind man, and told him to go and wash in the pool of Siloam, and the blind man went and washed and came back seeing. Siloam, when translated, means Sent. It is the word that, since the Lord came to this earth as the Savior sent by God the Father, had our sins transferred to Him with the baptism He received from John, was crucified and died, and rose again from the dead and saved us from sin, we come to receive the remission of sins by believing in that Savior.
