Today we have looked at this word. On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus cried out and said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” The Jews have three great feasts, and the feast spoken of here is one of them, the Feast of Tabernacles. There are various feasts, but at any rate, on the last day of that great feast, Jesus stood and cried out. He said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Did the Lord not say that out of the heart of the one who believes in Him would flow rivers of living water? Taken literally, this word means that rivers of living water flow out of the heart of the one who believes.
