Today I intend to share the word about the Holy Spirit from the word of John 7:37 through 39. Jesus went up to Jerusalem for the feast of the Jews and preached this word, and people were trying to seize Jesus and kill Him. But it was not yet the time for Him to die. Jesus is arrested at the time of the feast of the Passover, suffers humiliation, and is put to death. This feast was the Feast of Tabernacles, before the Passover, and He spoke like this: “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” And here, as an additional explanation, this explanatory note was added: “But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”
